the appointment went well. There is nothing neurologically wrong with my daughter which is great news. She does have low muscle tone throughout her body which affects what she is able to do. She tested at the low end of normal in all the areas that she was tested. For now the doctor wants to see her next year, and in the meantime we keep doing what we are doing..have her in her preschool program...enroll in an early dance class. We also have to take her for a hearing test as her comprehension was scattered during the test, but i have no worries about this.

I'm nervous about tomorrow. One of my twins has a very important appointment tomorrow...an appointment that will either clearly tell us what may be wrong with her and set us on the path of getting her the help she needs, or tells us that all the months of worry were pointless and beyond her apraxia she is perfect. I'm of course hoping for the later, but I can't fool myself into believing that there is no reason for this appointment. I just hope that it goes smoothly tomorrow...its a long appointment...1.5 hrs.

In other news my son is doing a bit better. He's had horrible sleeps lately, and we've upped his inhalers to 4x a day. Last night he finally had a peaceful nights rest and so far tonight he's only cried out once but was able to soothe himself back to sleep. His nose is still running, and his cough doesn't sound very nice...but at least he is sleeping.

Had a good weekend with the kiddos. Took them to pick out their halloween costumes...they were thrilled. Then on Sunday we took them to two different pumpkin patches. The first was crowded and the pumpkins weren't that great. The second was empty and the pumpkins were amazing. The kids had a blast running in between the rows, playing tag and hide n seek.

There's a reason its called the great white north. Its only October 12th, and we have already gotten our first snowfall. Its only a dusting, but still enough to put me in a foul mood. I hate winter, and i hate the snow. I want to enjoy a nice cool fall before we get into the bitter temperatures of winter. The kids were excited to see the snow though, and i did enjoy seeing the excitement on their faces.

I mentioned yesterday that my son has a runny nose, plus a pretty good cough going on as well. Because of his lung issues as soon as he starts coughing he starts on his inhalers. He's been sleeping terribly at night, and tonight he woke up screaming. I brought him downstairs and gave him another dose of his inhaler and then he slept on my chest for the next 40 mins, before i felt it would be okay to take him back up to his bed. He is such a mommy's boy. When he wants or needs something its me who he wants, he only wants me to put him to bed at night...and when he wakes up like he did tonight...as soon as i bring his body to mine he's instantly calmed....i love him to pieces.

awww Fall...that lovely time of year when the sickies begin their invasion of my house. It will start with a runny nose on one child...then slowly makes its way around to all four children...all leaving snail trails and using up endless piles of tissues. Seeing that it can't bring my kids down with a simple runny nose..the sickies decide to play hard ball and get the oldest kid with a cough and just for some added excitement lets throw in some vomit...score double points for having it happen during Thanksgiving dinner. Knowing they have a cough started in one child, they look around the house at the other three and set their sights on the easiest victim, my son, who has had more lung issues in his short life then is fair....he began coughing this morning and is on his inhalers tonight. The sickies are here, and they are comfortable....sadly they won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

My three youngest kiddos are playing in the toyroom right now. They have about a million Little People strewn across the floor, most are abandoned and ignored, while the three of them play off together in the far corner in the Little People Barn. While two of them can't really converse, they all seem to be playing along in the same storyline and understanding what each other is saying...but most of all they aren't fighting. Its moments like these that warm my heart and make me smile.

On the walk back from the bustop today one of the older girls on the street handed me a slip of bright green paper and said if i ever needed a babysitter to give her a call. I smiled at her and told her she didn't know what she was getting into lol. The piece of paper said she had taken the babysitting course and that she only charged $5 an hour for up to three kids, more kids would be a bit more expensive. I think she is about 12 or 13 years old...she is the oldest of her siblings...very friendly and seems very mature. When she first handed me the paper i thought this would be great...i'd defintley call her up some time. The more i thought about it though, doubts crept into my head. How could a 13 yr old put my kids to bed at night if we were going out for an evening. Daynah can be difficult to put to bed some nights for us...i can't imagine she'd make it a cakewalk for a teenager. And would a 13 yr old really be able to take care of 4 kids at once, especially three so close in age?? Of course then i think back to when i was younger, and i too started babysitting when i was 12 yrs old...putting infants to bed...watching numerous children. I used to babysit on this one street, and i basically was the babysitter for everyone on the street that had young children. Whenever i would come over to babysit at one person's house, i'd usually end up the with the rest of the street's kids too. I loved being a babysitter...its hard to believe that just this past May the oldest group of kids i used to babysit graduated from highschool!! Guess i'm just gonna have to give this girl a chance...i know i can trust her and the kids all love her....of course now as a parent 12 seems sooo young to me to have that responsibiltiy lol...
