So Mrs. Chicken, Mrs. Chicky and Her Bad Mother are about to become mothers – for the second time. There’s a virtual shower going on in their honour, and the lovely ladies behind it want us to share our favorite ass/advice when it comes to having kids, second kids specifically.

Now for me personally i skipped over that whole going from one to two kids, because that just seemed to simple to me lol. If i was going to expand on motherhood i was going to do it in a big way, so i jumped from 1 to 3 kids, and then just for good measure decided to get pregnant again when those two new ones were only 4 mos old (ya i'm crazy like that!!).

Now i don't remember getting much advice or assvice when it came to the kiddos, or maybe its just my brain has been so fried that i don't remember. So i'm just going to stick with things that worked for me personally.

*Try to set up some semblance of a schedule, it might take some time, but if you can get your older child and your newborn to nap at the same time...you'll have that time of blessed silence and relaxation to look forward to.

*Have diapers and wipes and change of clothes and whatever else you might need handy on every floor of your house. Nothing sucks more then having to walk all the way upstairs just to change your wee ones diaper. Plus if you have the diapers/wipes easily accessible you can ask your older child to bring them to you. My daughter used to love fetching me the diapers

*Don't expect a carbon copy of your first....the second one will defintely throw you for a loop and keep you on your toes. Things that worked on your first won't necessarily soothe your newborn...

*make sure to carve out special time in your day for just you and your oldest child...the first few days might seem like bliss, with your toddler just in love with their new sibling, but that can change. My oldest used to take advantage of me feeding the twins to do things she knew she shouldn't because she knew i wouldn't be able to get up and stop her at that moment.

Having another child is such a wonderful thing, watching the sibling bond grow , makes me smile on a daily basis. Best of luck to each of you ladies....your source of love and laughter is about to get infinitely bigger.
